ATTENTION UTILITY CUSTOMERS;

The Governor’s office has lifted the ban on disconnects effective November 6, 2020. The City of Walton will resume normal disconnect practices on January 4th, 2021. Delinquent balances that had a due date of December 15, 2020 will be shut off on January 4th, 2021 unless payment arrangements are made before December 15, 2020. NO EXCEPTIONS.

We must have a signed agreement by December 15, 2020 to avoid shut off’s if you are past due.

We know this is a stressful time, and we will do our best to help. Depending upon your particular circumstances, assistance may be available. We encourage you to contact Community Action at 859-292-5222 or 859-279-0332. www.nkcac.org/  for help. We are unable to contact them for you.

At this time with the growing threat of COVID-19, the Mayor has declared a State of Emergency to take appropriate action to protect against the spread of COVID-19. The City of Walton is working with local, state, and federal officials to adjust plans proactively to help protect the safety and well-being of residents and city employees.

City Offices will open on May 26, 2020 with the following restrictions:

  • 6 ft distancing between customers
  • One person at the window only. 
  • After completing your transaction please exit the building, We miss our customers but it’s not the time to chit chat with us
  • Please use the drop box for your city business if possible.
  • Online services are available.
  • Your credit card fees will be waived until further notice.
  • If you need new service, and do not wish to come in the building, please contact our office at 859-485-4383
  • No public restrooms.

Change of Council Meeting Time and Establishing Community Events Planning Meetings

The regular monthly meeting of the City Council shall be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Walton Senior Center, 44 North Main Street, Walton, Kentucky. In addition to the regular monthly meetings the City Council shall hold a monthly community events/discussion meeting prior to the Council Meetings on the second Tuesday of each month from 6:15 p.m. to 6:45pm at Walton City Hall, 40 North Main Street, Walton, Kentucky.

The regular monthly Caucus meeting shall continue to be held the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Walton City Hall, 40 North Main Street, Walton, Kentucky.

As always, the public is invited and encouraged to attend these meetings.
