Walton Senior Center Program Coordinator (Part-Time)

All interested persons, please take notice that the City of Walton, Kentucky, is accepting applications for the position of Walton Senior Center Director. This is a part time position, estimated to be 2-3 days a week with hours ranging from around 9:00AM – 3:30PM.

Position Summary: The primary role of a Senior Center Program Coordinator is to organize and implement engaging, fun and inclusive programs that appeal to the diverse senior interests and needs.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate has a passion for serving the senior community and the ability to connect with seniors who have unique interests, needs and personalities. To be successful in this position, the candidate works well under pressure and has strong communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills. The top candidate is someone who is compassionate, focused, innovative, patient and dedicated to serving the aging population in our community.

Responsibilities:

Fostering a welcoming environment for our Seniors

Program planning/coordination of activities such as recreation, health and wellness, education, outreach and assistance

Encourage and assist seniors with community involvement and socialization

Develops partnerships with community programming entities.

Provide outstanding customer service through responsive, clear and appropriate communication with volunteers, staff, and members of the public.

Maintaining the Senior Center to the highest health & sanitation standards

Maintain records/files

Qualifications:

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license

Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs

Ability to stand for extended period of times

Computer skills (Excel/Word/Calendar)

Leadership/Communication skills

Positive interpersonal skills

Pay Range $18-$22 an hour based on experience.
