When does City Council meet?

The City Council conducts Caucus Meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 P.M. These meetings are held at City Hall. Additionally, Council Meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M., and these take place at the Walton Senior Center.

County Animal Control does NOT remove wild animals such as; squirrels, raccoons, opossums, rats, etc. You must contact a private company to handle wild animal issues.

How do I open a water account?

The City of Walton requires a $150.00 deposit and a completed water application to initiate water and sewer services. We accept payment in the form of cash, checks, or money orders for the deposit. Bills will be dated and mailed on or before the last day of each month and are due upon receipt. A 10% penalty will be applied after the 15th of the month. Service may be disconnected after the 25th of the month if the bill is not paid in full, and a $30 reconnect fee will be applied.

For your convenience, a drive-up drop box is available in the parking lot for payments. If making cash payments, please ensure they are placed in a secured envelope with your name, address, and account number. Any returned checks will incur a $35 service fee.

PROPERTY TAX QUESTIONS

Who determines the tax value on my property?

Boone County Property Valuation Administrator or Kenton County Property Valuation Administration, depending on the County in which your home is located.

How do I view tax information?

Property and tangible taxes are due by December 31st and will be subject to a 10% penalty plus interest. Payments can be made in person at the Walton City Building, or for your convenience, we provide a drive-up drop box in the parking lot for payments. Alternatively, payments may be mailed to the City of Walton, PO Box 95, Walton, KY 41094. If you choose to pay by mail and desire a receipt, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope, and we will mail a receipt back to you.

It’s important to note that the payment must be received on or before December 31st to avoid delinquent penalties and interest. Please be aware that we do not honor postmark dates. You can access tax information on our website: https://cityofwalton.org/taxes/
